Life before work

I'm now officially back at work, wasting away in my cubicle, working for the man (i know, i'm being dramatic)...many tears have been shed and my heart has broken everytime I've walked out the door. Everyone tells you it gets easier as time goes on but really, when does it start to get easier?! I would much rather stay at home with our little Charlie but a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. The last 4+ months have been a magical time for us and I can't even begin to describe how wonderful my life has been thus far. Even if I do have to go to work, seeing Charlie smile makes it all worth it.

Here's a recap of our last couple of weeks of life before work.

4 Month check-up
Little miss Charlie is growing like a weed. We took her in for her 4 month check-up and her stats were all in th 50th percentile except for her weight; she fell into the 95th percentile (16.3 lbs). Grow Charlie, grow!!

When Charlie met Nixon...
Charlie met her big cousin Nixon (and Aunt Kylee and Uncle Conner) for the first time. They played nice, exchanged pleasantries and tried to take each others binkies. =) We did alot of things together during their visit; here are a few from when we went to the market. It was so great to catch up with Conner, Kylee and Nixon. Charlie had a great time with Nixon and I can't wait to see the 2 of them grow up together.

Charlie's first trip to the zoo
While Zeke was busy working Charlie and the rest of the Edwards' cland made our way to the Woodland Park Zoo. Charlie slept for a good majority of the visit but enjoyed seeing the gorillas and elephants. I'm thinking she may enjoy it a bit more when she is a little older.

First hair buzz
Charlie's hair has been the topic of conversation for a long time. Grandpa Rick liked to refer to it as the rest home look. Personally, I thought she was starting a new trend; a patchy look. Reluctantly, I agreed to allow Charlie's hair to be buzzed. She did great and stayed still for her first and only buzz cut. I think Grandpa had a great time giving her the same hair do that he has. =) Nixon was a great help too, he wanted to help clean up the hair.

4th of July
For the fourth, we celebrated up at the lake house. We bbq'd, went on a boat ride, had a bonfire and hung out with family. It was a great time and Charlie got to meet a few more (2nd) cousins. Zeke even got a chance to practice his new hobby of fishing(don't worry all, it was just catch and release).

Big Daddy D's Birthday
We celebrated Grandpa's birthday by having the whole family go out to the M's game. Charlie is quite the M's fan and really enjoys going to the games. Although, I'm pretty sure that she is more insterested in the stadium lights than the actual game. Either way, we had a blast! To end the night, we had chocolate cake and ice cream-yum! Happy Birthday, Grandpa!! We Love you!!

Just a few more random pictures that were taken throughout the week. I just love this little one so much, she is truly the light of our lives.
