We've Reached the Motherland!

Greetings from Korea!

For those of you who don't know, my parents and little sister, Kimmy are currently living in Korea for the next 2 years because my dad is working in Busan (quick geography lesson: Busan is the 2nd largest city in South Korea. It is a port town on the South East coast of the Korean peninsula). Ever since Charlie's been born, my parents have been dying to meet her. What better time to visit the parents than when I am maternity leave for 4.5 months?! Zeke was gracious enough to let his 2 girls go for 6 weeks so that the grandparents could meet Charlie!! We miss him very much and wished that he could have come with us but someone has to stay behind and work to pay the bills! I married an amazing man. Thanks, babe for your sacrifice!

My sister, Tammy was nice enough to clear her schedule and join us on our long expedition. She was such a big help! I don't think I could have made it through the airport without her! So, last Thursday, the 3 of us borded the plane for the 12 hour flight so that Charlie could meet her Halahbuhjee and Halmuni (Korean for grandpa and grandma). The flight was long but we made it in one piece. The flight attendants commented on how great Charlie did on the flight (and how adorable she is)!!

When my parents picked us up from the airport, we were greated with lots of smiles, hugs and tears (of joy). My mom came running up to the arrivals gate when they saw us and immediately I could see that her eyes had welled up which made me tear up. Both my parents were speechless! They were just so excited to finally meet their baby. Kimmy was so happy that she just about tackled me at the gate to get a good look at Charlie up close. The 12 hour flight was long but seeing the expressions on their faces was priceless! It will be a moment I will never forget.

So far on the trip, Charlie has done beautifully but she has been acting up a bit when she gets really tired. She never really fussed that much at home so I assume that it may be due to being jet lagged, a growth spurt or because she misses her dad! Hopefully this stage is short lived and she is back to her happy self.

Here are some pictures from the last few days. We miss you guys but will see you soon!
